    Full Back Piece Thread

It's done. It's actually done. The last session was the worst one I've had to endure. Major touch ups to the wind bars/clouds, double lining, basically every soft spot got hit in one day. By the end I was definitely spent, but so stoked. Dana was very pleased with how this came out, and that makes me happy too. He wants me to show up to the Baltimore or Philly conventions and do the back piece contest. This took a year and a half, and it was an amazing experience.

  4. Hi, here is a healed photo of the hell scene that Tim Lehi did on me last month. He is my favourite tattooer and it was so fun to get this piece from him. I also posted it in this months contest: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/lst-announcements-contests/6076-november-2014-tattoo-month-contest-page4.html#post105993 The size of the photo might be a bit too big, but I will fix it as soon as I can.

    Horitomo Tattoo Cat Prints

Molly wrote me!!! Excited!!! After some chatting about a recent order mix-up and that I've been a loyal customer (read: Monmon Cat addiction), she told me that Horitomo's schedule had opened up due to cancelled travel plans and she offered me a sooner spot!!! April consultation!!! ::dances around kitchen::

Sorry no pics. I got a chance to look through a pile of Dana's secret stash of Roper pics, some are pretty good. I also got a chance to scroll through Bloodwork Bodies. Man, that book is amazing. The green dragon is in the book, I had to steal a clean pic for you guys. Not to mention it was good to catch a glance at @hogg's ass on more time.

  12. Okay, we are six hours in of day 1 of 3.. Here are the first few shots. We're doing full back in three days, a third at a time, so we don't have to keep going over fresh ink from previous days :) Artist: Erin Chance, tattooing at Sacred Tattoo in Auckland, New Zealand

    Perspective on Koi

I'm looking for photos of Koi backpieces with a specific perspective on the Koi, illustrated in the Roper and Horimatsu pieces below. I haven't seen many done from this perspective but I think it looks great! I've seen a Rubendall piece like this at one point but am unable to locate it. Any pictures or links would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Hello from Montreal

Hello all, I'm a 27 years old tattoo enthusiast from Montreal. I took a look arond the site and thought I'd join, it would be nice to exchange with people who have such good taste in tattoos! My favorite styles are realistic and cartoon and I wear both. I've got 60+ hours of work so far, including a back piece, all by Montreal artists. I'm looking for full body coverage. Aside from that, I'm an electrician, I really enjoy going to gigs and playing video games. Also, english is my second language. Although I understand it almost perfectly, my wording might sound a bit odd from time to time. But I'm always happy to learn, so I don't mind being corrected.

  18. Thanks all! It's definitely a large undertaking! Currently into day two, about an hour in.. Here is a photo taken this morning of yesterday's progress.. Excuse the undies & the angle - my friend took this photo when I got out of the shower! Will add more as I can take them, working on upper back today so can be difficult to get good action shots via selfie!

  19. Before I figured all this out, I got the shakes and shivers really bad. Now I wear fleece, but the cure for all tattoo ills is ..... BROWNIES! Before, during, during, during, after. A little protein, some fat and lots of sugar. The perfect endurance food. My batch for tomorrow is in the oven now :)

    Upcoming Tattoos

Pretty excited. Timothy Boor is going to guest spot at a shop near me. Was able to book him for a session. Going to have him start a half-sleeve on my right arm. I'm into black & gray - realism. Gave him some ideas, but also threw out the option to do something that he has been wanting to do. Could turn out pretty cool. Instagram

    Upcoming Tattoos

Boston and New England folks, Greg Christian is coming to Congress St. I'm hoping I can book in w/him tomorrow. (It feels sort of rude to book a touch-up when a tattooer's travelling & to not get something else, too.)

Bummer!! I am not sure how long we'll be there (but I suspect a while), but if you drop by on the later side of things, maybe we could grab a drink after? Anyway, you have G-Dawg's phone #, textbro.

  33. Yeah haha ambitious, I know! But totally getting there! We are three hours into day two atm, and Erin is smashing it! She's got some pace on her for being so detail focussed! I'm feeling good, tomorrow will be a struggle I think, and last night toward the end my pain threshold was at zero.. But worth it!! :) More pics to come

    Perspective on Koi

@ironchef I think I would only do colour if I had one cohesive full suit of waves and rocks with a massive Koi on my back, except the colour would be done like the Horimatsu piece, just a hint of yellow in the fins!

  36. Day one down! Started at noon, had a half hour dinner break at 8pm, then finished at 1030pm. Got so much done, but so exhausted! Will post a progress shot in the morning, I've gotta get some sleep - day two starts at 11am tomorrow! Sending you all "sit long stay strong" vibes for your sessions too!

    Hip Hop Thread

I've been listening to GDP for a year and a half. Useless Eaters was in my top 5 albums last year. Found out a week or two ago that a fellow LSTer made a bunch of shirts for him. Small world, getting smaller. I'll leave it up to said LSTer to publicly voice his input.

    Why skull figures?

When people get tattooed it is usually an outward reflection of their internal climate, and what with damn near every person on the planet being obsessed with their death, skulls tend to be a popular motif.

  44. Ok, about time I updated this and get the rest of my pics up. First 3 are of the Gramaphone from Kim Anh Nguyen in Amsterdam, with the last two being healed/recent shots. Salon Serpant is a fantastic shop and I'm doing my best to convince the OH to go back there as I'd love a lady head from Kim, a man head from Guen Douglas and something weird from Susanne Konig! All recent pics are taken off the phone by a hungover and less than cooperative OH so forgive the crappy pics! - - - Updated - - - Script is from Kris Magnotti, done in NY Adorned in 2010. Went to NYC with our football team and we had a few hectic nights before I got this so I really was not in the right frame of mind getting this done on the ribs! Great shop and would love to get more work by Kris. Inner bicep done by Tyler James Densely in Seven Seas San Diego, probably around 2007/8. Real nice guy. Tattoo wraps around the fron of the arm so hard to get a good pic. - - - Updated - - - Last pic is of my 3/4 sleeve. Finished by Jani in Wildcat Dublin. I get the work started by another artist and really wasn't happy with the work so, in fairness to Jani, it limited his ability to put his own stamp on it. What I would do to turn back time and get a sleeve from Mike Rubendall!! Ah well... Don't mind the ugly scar from my shoulder surgery.
