Not an artist but I would not worry yet. What are you using for aftercare? When in doubt cut back the ointments you are using and ask your artist check out the after care threads there are several worth reading from start to finish, annd welcome to LST you know have the tools you need for getting great tattoos

Maybe everyone (the general public) can just loosen up and not be offended by things that aren't hateful or hurtful... Like.. honestly? Why are dicks even offensive in the first place? If you are offended by nature, maybe that's a personal problem.

Oh man, I want a tattoo! I have an appointment booked for Oct 5th to add to my right arm, and will go to consult about it soon. Decided to go back to Kim Saigh. While there are hundreds of artists whose stuff I'm into, I figured who better to continue this arm than the person who already started it. I am really fond of her, and her work, and her shop. When I got the roses from her on my upper arm I didn't know I'd want to turn it into a sleeve, but I have full confidence she can figure it out.

This is a photo taken by my friend, @Iwar, right after Marius Meyer did a hell of a oneshot on me. I was almost dead, at least very close to fainting. Haha! See a better picture of it in the august contest. The front is just a collection of good and bad tattoos. Some day the owl is going to taste the laser..

A deep breath, Valium, and trust will get you a long way :). The right tattooer will take that amorphous mass of ideas and turn it into something glorious.

I think you need to get off the internet and stop looking at so much. Take two to three examples of things you like and let go. You're asking someone to design something for you. So obviously they are doing to need a little say so in the process.

After 8 months I finally got around to dropping my 3 Thom deVita pieces off at the local frame shop. The price tag on a custom frame job is humbling to say the least but I picked out a simple frame that has distressed finish and paired it with black matting. I'm excited about being able to properly display these awesome pieces. I'll post the finished product when I pick them up the week.

There is nothing like the feeling of finding an artist who's as stoked on the piece as you are. Congrats!

I'm getting a raven... the raven may have something hanging from its beak (like a key or a bell), and then I'm not sure what else... this is where I'm hoping she can chime in w/more ideas. Or I could just get the raven for now and add more stuff separately. I'd be happy with more flowers, maybe a branch, maybe a moth. ps. I've wanted a raven for a while and yours did not make me want one any less!!

I had my consult today and we are going to start in July of next year, or earlier if he has any cancellations. I'm super stoked, the tattoo is going to be amazing, and I just get such a good vibe from him and that shop.

Your first posts are now approved. Welcome to LST! The guy's legs (color photo) you posted are by Stuart Cripwell. I've been tattooed by Stuart a few times, and I know for a fact that his client achieved that look by giving Stuart a lot of (if not total) control. Just a heads up. The best results are usually achieved when you put your trust in a solid artist. Speaking of, if you're anywhere near Amsterdam, I highly recommend checking out Salon Serpent. tattoo Kim Anh Nguyen has a style that you might really like, and the other tattooers at that shop are great, too. I don't get it. Why would you get a tattoo that didn't offend someone, especially uptight people at the supermarket.

I will always remember a quote a friend who is heavily tattooed and also has been tattooing close to 40 years said to me (and I agree 500%) He said: "I liked it a lot better when I was considered socially unacceptable to the socially unacceptable!" Pleas don't get me wrong....I am not being nasty or anything..... I could give a rats ass what others think of my tattoos in public and if they taught their children properly not to stare at people who were different like I taught my kids.....then they wouldn't have to worry about the fact that I have an old shriveled up penis with a peg leg and prickly balls tattooed on the outside of my upper right arm! I get tattooed for myself and no one else and if the public feels what I have is too profane for them or their children to look at then they don't have to look! ;)

This October me and a group of friends are going to be raising funds and running a 5k in support of the 2013 Philadelphia Aids Walk. In my life I've lost too many people to this horrible disease and while things are better than they've ever been with meds and hopes of vaccines and cures.. people are still dying. I'm not sure if a lot of folks here on LST know what I do for a living; I work in a gay bar in Center City Philly and every day I see people who's lives have been affected- directly or indirectly- by HIV/AIDS. My own mentor, Jack Yount, died of complications due to AIDS. It's something that hits very close to home with me and this year I've decided that instead of just donating money to the walk... we're going to run. I'm going to hit up some of my tattooer friends and see if we can't get a donation of artwork for an exclusive Occult Vibrations shirt design, something non-related to the event but available only to folks who donated, as well as whipping up special OV dvds of deleted footage that I can't show on the blog. If I see a tattoo of a genital/s on someone it's a way for me to know they're automatically cool as shit. I have some boobs, but they're on my upper arm. I do work with other's kids sometimes. My kid and her close friends/their parents, don't care though. The state of IL and the school MIGHT. But when she's older and out of pre-school, who knows!? Boobs, balls, wangs, va-jay-jays, go nuts!

That used to be me. I'd give money but I never actually did anything other than that. Posting pictures of what you want to cover will help with opinions, also posting some idea of what you want it to be covered with.. In the end consulting your artist face to face will determine what he/she can do.

in terms of healing I heard rotary heals faster. In my experience from getting tattooed is not really. Both are about the same healing time.

If you don't understand art, fucking learn to. Jesus fucking Christ. No one was born with this skill. Look at good art, well painted or drawn works that respect scale and color, not some chick's deviant art. The entirety of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art is available to view, for free, online. There are all of the Tattoo Age videos you can watch to see great tattoos and tattooers. If you won't learn to fucking understand art, we're not going to teach it to you. This isn't high school, we're not being paid. If you want to get a big boy tattoo take some goddamn responsibilities. You have repeatedly asked the same questions, and seemingly just thrown out anything you see at us. We are not your filter. We cannot and will not hold your hand. There is a time to ask questions, and there is a time to reflect, and read, and research. To try for yourself to understand something. You need to do what Graeme said and lurk more, read old threads here. There is so much information on here that if you are thorough there will be no need for you to ask any of these kinds of questions. Please listen to me. Don't continue to badger this already haggard community. Take this into your own hands.
