Latest tattoo lowdown.....
Rob I and 5 others reacted to losParanoyas for a topic
Got back on Saturday from my latest session with Kore Flatmo. We added all that color to the dagger, snake, and flames. These pictures do not do those blue jewels justice. Next time we're adding black and grey work to the bottom shin area, the knee, and back of thigh. Had a great time up there as usual.6 points -

Latest tattoo lowdown.....
polliwog and 2 others reacted to Bunny Switchblade for a topic
I am not sure whether it was posted or not on here BUT it seems I got to be tattooed by and visit with Peter Giaquinto just in time! Peter was laid to rest last weekend! He was very welcoming to me and told me some really cool stories as well as sharing with me a few things on tattooing! :(3 points -
From that same photoset we also have @Shaun1105 wearing his LST shirt while in an armbar. All the pictures are here: http://www.nightlife.ca/2014/09/09/des-tatouages-par-milliers-la-12e-convention-internationale-de-tatouage-de-montreal3 points

Need help with font
hogg and 2 others reacted to gougetheeyes for a topic
Your tattooer will have infinitely better font references than the internet. Or at least, he should... If he reaches for the computer instead of one of the many lettering books out there, BJ Betts will appear like a genie and smack him in the face.3 points -

That armbar and seating position was so uncomfortable that it made the discomfort of an inner arm tattoo pale in comparison. The pain of the tattoo was a nice distraction from my elbows position at times.2 points

Yeah, so those Rassier ditches were supposed to be my last tattoos of 2014. How in the world do I have 3 appointments booked, with a potential 4th that may or may not go through, depending on whether or not Ben Grillo gets booked up for his Temple trip. And I want to do that Idle Hand GWYG on Saturday too. Fuck.2 points

True, and maybe I'm becoming a cranky old man well in advance of my years, but I think that when somebody is shown respect, a little bit of respect and politeness isn't too much to ask in return.2 points

I have an ass/back of thighs lining session tomorrow. I'm going to try to keep this "magic" and "mystical bond" in mind while I'm getting tattooed to try to convince myself that I'm not the stupidest person in the world.2 points

I had one of the best tattoo experiences today and officially crossed the line into weird territory with this by Mando Rascon today. Immaculate tattoo is definitely the best shop I've been in so far and Mando is honestly the best dude I've met, after the tattoo they shouted me lunch and he took me on a tour around Mesa and Tempe and then drove me all the way home to my hostel!!. what a dude.2 points

I'll agree with Graeme, Yann is well known in Mtl and does good work in his style. You shouldn't sweat it too much, when you friend gets tired of this piece he can still get a giant solid black panther blasted over everything. Third time is the charm they say.2 points

Scabbing and peeling
Yeastbreath reacted to Pleadco for a topic
The best way to keep it from rubbing against your clothes is to cover with something that won't move. Either under armor type clothing, or saniderm/tegaderm/tatuderm. The derms will keep germs (and your picky fingers) off the tattoo. If those aren't an option, your best bet is just to leave it alone and let it heal. Don't start worrying about how it looks until it's fully healed Also, make sure to read the several pre existing threads on aftercare instructions on LST.1 point -
oklahoma artist recommendation?
CultExciter reacted to else for a topic
I've had *2* beautiful tattoos from Levi Hatch, he did both my raven-girl and my anchor. I believe he's left Oklahoma though, last I heard he was in Michigan. I've been following his work and it's just so good! I'd love to have another from him. Think Ink tattoo in Norman is probably the only place I'd go in Oklahoma (besides Richard Stell ;)) David Bruehl came out of there too.1 point -
I'm just there the Friday... Just being tattooed by Tomo from Yellow Blaze (some more colour on my front piece). I love the idea of getting a small walk up from someone too, but I don't know if I should, money-wise. Spent a lot on tattooing this year. Either way I'm looking forward to doing a little walk-about and snagging some loot like t-shirts.1 point

Shark slam back of neck this morning. Shithouse picture, and this is not complete. We need to back fill to tie in, dark water, blood pool and a little between the top fins, but anyway, here's the start.1 point -
If I start on a sleeve within the next couple of years, I probably will have to budget for it in a pretty dedicated, week-by-week way, unless my line of work completely changes. If I don't have at least some savings put aside specifically for the purpose of getting tattooed, I feel too guilty to go ahead with it. Thanks for the neuroses, family.1 point

@RoryQ That chest piece by Tomo is INSANITY. It looks scary as hell which speaks to the amazing piece that it is. Yellow Blaze is HARDCORE!!!1 point

How did I miss or forget you were getting your torso done by Tomo. That is absolutely incredible and I couldn't stop looking at it when he posted it. Just curious. What kind of Noh mask is that? It doesn't look like the typical hannya that's often seen. Looks familiar but can't place it. It's really cool. One of, if not, my most favorite tattoo that I've seen of his.1 point

I had an absolutely AMAZING time in Montreal this past weekend, as did my wife! Thank you so much to @Graeme, @Pugilist, @Shaun1105, @BrianH (and Taylor) and @mitslam for a great brunch and great conversations. I was on zero sleep due to a bit of insomnia and some hard partying neighbors in our hotel. Going into a back session with Chad was terrifying under these circumstances, but Graeme, Anna, and Shaun kept me calm and relaxed! Thank you so much!!! I CANNOT wait till next year and plan on staying a few extra days next time. Thanks again guys. Great memories and talking with you all felt like hanging with old friends. It truly did. @Graeme, @Pugilist, @Shaun1105, and @BrianH scored some amazing work, which i believe has been posted in the latest tattoo thread. GREAT TIMES!!! Rob btw- @Graeme, @Pugilist, and1 point

Yeah, going all three days is EXHAUSTING. It was really a lot of fun though, got a great tattoo, saw a lot of great tattoos, showed my butt to people I hold in very high esteem, hung out with friends, made new friends, and all around had a great time. It's weekends like these that make me feel really fortunate to have a part, however small, in this crazy tattoo thing. Here's a picture from our LST brunch meetup on Saturday: I've probably said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again, but y'all are a great bunch of people: smart, funny, interesting, fun to hang out with. I'm proud to call you friends.1 point

Too excited about how cool this looks to not share it. Please excuse the redness and peeling. This was the progress from my second session with Henning. About 11.5 hours total now. One more short session needed to color the tiger and the last few leaves.1 point

Trophy Tattoo (Hamilton, ont) is having their grand opening on the 21st and will be doing walk-ins all day. Super happy to have excellent tattooers more accessible to me, and so I'm going to celebrate by heading on down there to get a blue bird and love letter hopefully by Handsome Mike. daveborjes reacted to Fala for a topic
I will never understand why people say "can I have your opinion" when what they really mean is "can I have your approval". Not my thing either, I do see the charm in some of them though I wouldn't want it on my body.1 point -
