After 2 1/2 months rooming with my lovely mother after moving back to VT, I am moving into my own place! Living out the New Girl dream and rooming with 3 men... This should be interesting!

here's my tattoo from cole dunn that i got today at the meeting of the marked. hard to get it all in one shot because it's caps my shoulder off pretty good but you get the idea.

Hello Everyone I have been in a process of getting a back piece for a month now this is my first tattoo and the pic is 4 hours after the last session. Wanted to hear some honest opinions. It still has another session in 2 weeks in which some details and all the coloring will be done and it should complete the piece. What do you guys think?

With a process as important as getting a piece of artwork permanently drilled into your skin, how could you NOT use a professional tattoo designer?? Online of course. Face to face interaction is so last generation

A week from tomorrow I'm getting tattooed in Providence, RI, then I'm leaving for Europe til mid-December. Packing will be complicated since my journeys span multiple climates, but I'm excited to be traveling again!

@TrixieFaux & I just got back from a photo shoot at Memoir for Tattoo magazine. Don't know if our faces will show but it's the closest that I will ever be to being a model.

So far, for the first 4 weeks at my new school I have kept covered up with long pants and long sleeve shirts...even on these 90-100 degree days. I do have working A/C in my classroom so it only gets hot outside. Well, I got some cropped pants yesterday that show the bottom of the monmon cat tail and I'm going to wear them tomorrow. Yeah! Livin' on the edge!

drove down to frederick, maryland and got tattooed by alex boyko today.

Day 1 & 2 with Silvano Fiato 12 hours yesterday on this and 8 more today, still not finished. Coming back in 4 weeks time to Silvano the day after Florian to fill in the knee, do some more detail to the bottom part. He has done some very heavy saturation so that it will look great when healed. Going back next June to do the back of the calf. I love Lee Jeffries stuff so obviously we based it around his works. I am having a similar experience. I started out with a lot of planning and it finally got to be unfun. So I took a break, picked a spot, gave a couple of different thoughts but mainly went with what my artist was into or most excited about. Somewhere in there I crossed some kind of line and accepted that I am well on my way to full coverage which carries with it it's own innate symmetry/harmony of balance. It's been freeing for me to just enjoy the spontaneity and surprise of how things turn out. In the face of the long game, spaces and asymmetry really don't bug me as much anymore because they are temporary.

Rolex and wanky suit guy sounds... well... wanky. :p Ryan, you have the benefit here of many "hot girls" who are into tattoos responding to your post (at least I imagine everyone who posts on LST to be a beautiful person. Right?) Getting a tattoo is not going to make a difference. Your personality and confidence will. By all means get an awesome tattoo, but do it for yourself. That is way cooler than getting a tattoo that you perceive will make you cool in the eyes of someone else. Girls can sniff that crap out really easily, and it is a huge turn off. No-one likes a try hard. Being true to yourself and being comfortable in your own skin is attractive. Anyway, in response to what you actually asked... phoenix? Classic subject, awesome to look at, carries the sentiment of the quote without being a quote...

How many hours? I barely remember. I feel like 4-5 on the back and 1.5 on the arm. That was silly of me. And I was totally overwhelmed by the sights/sounds/smells of the convention. I'm looking forward (if I am in town) to all the loot! So much art! Books!!!

I believe we are scheduling my back with Shad sometime near the convention so I can go!!! I hope to be there again this year! But I don't know if I want to get tattooed at the convention. That was rough. Too much in one day. But if I'm in town I will surely be there.

It's really not all that large. Has to be bigger than you would think to permit detail. Remember that the biggest remembrance of her should be who you turn into!

I FINALLY made up my mind. I picked a picture of her in her prime and had the artist make her into an angel. I picked her prime because this is how I now picture her young, beautiful, happy and most importantly NOT suffering. The artist picked the wing, and background. This tattoo is ALOT larger than I wanted but no turning back now. I sat through 17 hours of inking. I still have to come back for another full day session. He still has to do the other dove, clouds, sun and finish the rose. He really got into this and worked on me as much as he could. I still didn't know it would be THIS BIG. Still not sure how I feel about it because it's SO LARGE. I am very happy and excited with the detail of my mother, which took the longest. Second session today with my buddy Iain Mullen on his collaboration with Rudy Fritsch. Beyond happy with how this is progressing. We did the lines with two machines almost 2 months ago and I had gotten used to seeing it that way. Now with some of the black in I am amazed by seeing it come to new life again.

Dean Bloebaum at Infinity here in Portland made this one for me. He has a few cobras in his flash and I've always liked his skulls, so I said "Cobra-dagger-skull" and this is what he came up with. I'm stupid stoked with how this turned out. Edit: Even before the color was added I thought it was pretty cool.
