  2. My suggestion is Kiku (Instagram) But if it's gotta be more black than greys...then any of the Horitoshi family.

It's done. It's actually done. The last session was the worst one I've had to endure. Major touch ups to the wind bars/clouds, double lining, basically every soft spot got hit in one day. By the end I was definitely spent, but so stoked. Dana was very pleased with how this came out, and that makes me happy too. He wants me to show up to the Baltimore or Philly conventions and do the back piece contest. This took a year and a half, and it was an amazing experience.

Sorry no pics. I got a chance to look through a pile of Dana's secret stash of Roper pics, some are pretty good. I also got a chance to scroll through Bloodwork Bodies. Man, that book is amazing. The green dragon is in the book, I had to steal a clean pic for you guys. Not to mention it was good to catch a glance at @hogg's ass on more time.

  11. Hi, here is a healed photo of the hell scene that Tim Lehi did on me last month. He is my favourite tattooer and it was so fun to get this piece from him. I also posted it in this months contest: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/lst-announcements-contests/6076-november-2014-tattoo-month-contest-page4.html#post105993 The size of the photo might be a bit too big, but I will fix it as soon as I can.

  12. Hi dude, if that you like is bold traditional japanese style, for me, two of the best and who have tattooed big part of my body are Rico and Shion of the Daruma Goya private studio in japan. They travel a lot around Europe, great balance about bold angry black background and great lines, you cannot wrong with this choice. @ricodaruma on instagram and DARUMA GOYA TATTOO, Japan Other great options are @horitsukikage1 or @horimomo , and if you like more "westernized" style, @stewart_modernclassic is amazing. Sorry for my english.

  14. That's where it lays. I got some old mates, who have been around, who are also into tattoos, but none of them can fathom the heavy suit approach like punching the armpits solid, in through the groin area solid. It's the attitude that gets you to the stage of firstly making the decision, committing to it then finally sitting through it. There's so much more to that statement than meets the eye as the attitude forms years beforehand. It's the attitude that separates the wishers from the doers.

  15. My tattooer gave me tegaderm for the first time. So stoked. I totally forgot I had it on it. This is the best.

  16. If you read earlier in the thread, and other specific threads, you'll see it's not uncommon to do two day sessions - especially if you're travelling a long way. They suck- especially the second day, when you're already tired and inflamed from day one. But it's a good way to make progress quickly, and the mortality rate is pretty low. ;)

  29. Went to see Steve Wimmer on Monday in Delaware. Took a little over 6 hours, my longest sitting. Thought I was gonna tap out but I champed it. Not gonna lie, the last hour was rough on me though. (Cell phone pic)

  30. I would take it off right now!! Longest I kept mine on for was 3 days. I usually keep it on for about 2.5 days and my tattoos come out perfectly. No lotion on top or under the derm. Just take it off then air dry for a while like a day or so. Then start with the lotion.

    Fitness!

Two marathons in two months! Intense :) One of the things I hate most about getting any tattoos from the waist down is that I have to put a hold on running for at least a week after. I'm thinking of getting the tops of my feet tattooed next year and am already bummed about all those missed runs :(

  35. Ok edited to make it not so massive, we'll see if that works. Tried to get a head on photo to show the other side as well, but it made it distorted as it wraps around and looked funny. Done by Ellen Murphy at Lombard St Tattoo, Portland. As I said the other day, rad shop, Ellen was awesome, great day all around. Picked off the wall from a Stell sheet, mostly healed now.

Session five yesterday, lining and shading background on the ribs and love handles. Goddamn the love handles are a shitty fucking spot. Next session we'll shade the background on my other cheek and thigh so we'll be going into the new year with a substantial chunk of the background done. I love how it's coming together.

As promised I have now managed to get some pictures of my fully outlined back. I never imagined it would be so many lines when I started but after 5 sessions and 15 hours in total we have completed the first stage. Very happy with it and can't find enough mirrors to look at all the detail.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

Colour! Pic pinched from Clare's instagram as I am sore, having a beer and don't have anyone at home to help me take pics yet. Have another appointment in two weeks to add on. We are doing a peony on inner bicep (couldn't resist with all the peony envy going on right now) which will wrap around and fix up the gap in her arm, mallard duck and fox with fruithat. Unsure if we will add on piece by piece or use the next session to get everything else lined.
