Here is my latest. Done on Tuesday by Aaron Coleman (Immaculate Tattoo, Mesa AZ). I asked for a crawling panther plus "whatever, as long as it's fairly traditional". Got a sword and some roses and I am extremely pleased of course. Done in only 2.25 hours as I mentioned in the 'fastest tattooers' thread.9 points

6 Days of standard mild soap and bepanthen. Normally I switch to Palmers cocoa butter on the 8th day and today I ran out of bepanthen. Buy a new tube? Or straight for the Cocoa butter? The skin is just about finished pealing2 points

I can't seem to post links very easily from my wife's iPad - but I am a fan of Joe Ellis (Sacred Electric in Leeds, UK). He was an apprentice when I first became aware of him a couple years ago. For a sample of his work check out my Rock of Ages in my gallery.2 points -

How do these special tattoo days work?

In the summer, Saved did a lot of walk-in Sundays with pre-drawn flash. I wish I made it to some of them. Some of the days were based around holidays like Mother's Day and others were design-based like Mandalas and Skulls. They never advertised the price, and I'm not even sure if they were shop minimum just that they were small one-shots.1 point -

Oh I'm aware of it. It's sad and not such an antiquated form of communication. At this rate 2 generations from now will barely be able to read a damn font if its not Helvetia or Times Roman. Pathetic. I give value to the fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination that this provides way over texting and video games, besides all the other benefits like BEING ABLE TO READ.1 point

Hey Folks, Thanks for this thread. Instead of it being a big ole bitchfest, it really has given me a good outlook, stuff to remember when I feel like I have to write a six paragraph bible verse the size of a postage stamp. I tattoo whatever walks through the door, and sometimes it is taxing to my soul, but what is more taxing is the thought of not tattooing.1 point

For TATTOOERS ONLY - most hated tattoo requests?
LeftyLucille reacted to Julio Avila for a topic
Trees. In the last two years I've done about 100 of them. Trees with hidden words or initials anywhere in the design (in the trunk, branches, or roots) Hidden words or initials. If you've got something to say, SAY IT! Arm bands. They break up the arm in such weird spots it makes it difficult "add to" or expand on with future tattoos. Cherubs. Naked babies?! For reals?! Art. You really need V. Van Gogh's "Starry Night" on your arm? Go buy a t shirt!! Superman logos. You are from right here. Not Krypton This list can go on forever. Sometimes it's not the what that you are tattooing but the who. Arrive on time, be respectful and don't figit around. Bring a good story to tell. Tattooers love em! Most of all, leave your tuff guy attitude at home. You ain't as tuff as us.1 point
