That was a blast. Good times everyone. We need to get Iwar a long sleeve shirt with tattoos on the sleeves before he leaves. My phone wants to spell "Iwar" Gwar.

  6. The VBS series on tattooing has really made me proud. It's almost like the first time I read Tattoo Time. It reminds me of why I fell in love with the tattoo culture and art. It does not make me want to vomit like the other pop culture tattoo offerings for the masses. I'm really stoked on these videos.

  8. My latest is posted in the War Stories thread as well, but I might as well tell more about it here. I got it this past Saturday. This one was at the request of my kids. I had said I wanted something completely whimsical, so I asked them what they thought I should get. They suggested Perry the Platypus, also known as Agent P, from the Disney show Phineas and Ferb. I am almost as big a fan of the show as they are, so I thought it was an awesome idea. I found that the artist who has done my previous three tattoos is currently taking a break from the business, so went to another loval artist she had recommended - Robyn at Mothers Tattoo in Erlanger KY. I am seriously pleased with the outcome - great experience and she did a great job of capturing the character. She also used a nearly silent tattoo machine, which I found interesting, I didn't know those existed....

  15. Oh man...I have a coworker who has four tattoos (that I've seen) of pretentious Latin phrases in a Roman font--all upside down. Two on his forearms, one on each foot, and I'm sure a few more that I've not had the pleasure of seeing. Homeboy's starting to look a little "Memento." I don't know why shit like that gets me so heated--as my wife pointed out, they're not my tattoos, so I don't have to like them--but god damn! It just makes me think that he doesn't actually like tattoos. /rant

    Wedding band tattoos

Gonna throw my experience in here... I do not have a wedding band tattoo and my dude refuses to tattoo one on me or get one himself. I wanted a diamond tattooed on my ring finger but now I've got a real one and it's way better ;) For those times when I don't want to wear my diamond ring I have my grandmothers plain gold wedding band. I plan on wearing that when I am travelling in sketchy countries and when I'm doing things with my hands that could hurt my ring. I have 'ELVIS' (like the singing king) on one side of my ring finger and '$' on the other side. Got them before I even knew my fiancé, he doesn't seem to mind. I do however have a portrait of my dude as a hot stuff devil (it's pretty amazing). My dude thought I was joking when I told him I was getting it but he's cool with it since his best friend did the tattoo and it's a really good tattoo. I also have the 'hand with and envelope' tattoo, the envelope has his initials on it, he did the tattoo himself. I also have at least 6 tattoos that were done by my dude but don't contain initials or names or anything like that. Obviously I think we're going to be together forever, I'm sure everyone who gets married thinks that at some point. We are one of those couples that everyone says "you guys really are gonna be together forever" or "usually I don't get to excited when people get engaged but you guys are a really special couple" and that kind of stuff. So yeah I really do think we'll be together till death do us part, and it seems like most people who know us think the same. So for me couple tattoos haven't been the kiss of death, I agree with Dari that it's just most relationships don't work. My dude's first tattoo is a bomb with a banner that says 'Mr. Lucky' I've always liked the tattoo and it still looks good 15 years later. I asked him once a long time ago if we ever got married would it be lame to get the same tattoo with 'Mrs. Lucky' in the banner. I haven't thought about it in a while but I still might do it. The guy who did his still works at Inksmith too so it really would be the same tattoo from the same person and likely in the same spot on my body. I really like the idea mrs. rad's friend did with the infinity loop rather than a wedding band. I find most finger bands that go all the way around end up looking kind of shitty after a while or end up blown out from the start. Fingers ain't easy to get tattooed so if anyone does do it, make sure your tattooer has done this before and knows what's up!

  18. Thanks for making my summer alone in the country in Canada not so boring! I've had fun talking/arguing/getting told off/learning and hope to keep doing so for another year and more to come! I've made some new friends and reconnected with some I haven't seen in a while.

  19. Tell me about it! Just helped a friend awhile back in putting a "fresh rebuilt" trans in his shovel, placed it in, replaced starter, battery box, primary(inner and outer), adjusted the chains, etc. to find out the trans was not done right, wouldn't shift to fourth....Everything back off and out and the "mechanic" didn't replace a simple plunger that was obviously out of spec, so the part replaced and back to doing the left side to right side motorcycle jog (you know what I'm talkin about), got it all back in place and correct and got that "Motorcycle Zen" feeling when she found fourth and she's been runin smooth ever since. If only I had taken the top cover off for a look before we put it in but the "mechanic" had "totaly rebuilt" the trans, just because some have wrenches don't make them a mechanic but when everything is right it seems to stay right for good while and there's no feelin like knowin whats going on inside and how fresh the parts and/or wear is. Good luck with the Suzi, there will be rewards.

  22. This is also true, I guess I'm just a firm beliver that tattoos shouldn't be gotten for a relationship. Me myself have been married for 4 years now. I have a ring, maybe worn it a dozen or so times. Wife is fine with it. But why something so simple as a ring or a tattooed ring is needed to say your married. I don't know, guess I'm just simple that way, a ring won't make a marrige, you have to.

    Wedding band tattoos

This is a terrible idea, My buddy had this done, we tried to tell him not to. It was true love.... They got divorced and he has a tattoo ring still, the girls at the bar won't talk to him because they think he is married. He is going to get it lasered, but he is dragging his feet.

    Bay area meet up?

I'm a fucking idiot, that's for sure... The hipstamatic app is good for taking fanzy-schmanzy pictures in daylight, but at a dimly lit restaurant....neh, not so much. Tried to fix it as much as I could by adjusting the contrast, but the picture still turned out pretty fucking terrible. Sorry guys. I saw steve take a picture or two while we were at the table though, so maybe he's got some better ones. Awesome meeting ya'll by the way! And thanks to Scott for suggesting the Pot Roast, and thanks to Hogg for assuring me I wouldn't get high from eating it.

Made teriyaki crab "fried" rice the other night using that boil in a bag rice(because I am for some reason unable to properly make rice. Stoopid, I know, but I always manage to ruin it). added chopped veggie and quickly heated the crab meat in a bit of melted butter with garlic. It wasn't bad at all and only took 20mins.

How did your appointment go today? @Tim Burke - that wolf is tough, nicely done I finally got photos of the rest of what I had done in Kyoto, not the best lighting but better than nothing for now :) two more sessions should finish it up me thinks ^^Sorry for the crappy photo but I really like these finger waves and wind bar

    palm tattoos

Keep us updated on the healing? This is going to sound odd out of context, but it worries me that it didn't hurt. I know everyone's pain tolerances are different, but if done 'correctly' (loathe as I am to put it that way) it should hurt. If it was just done as a 'normal' (loathe as I am to put it that way) tattoo, there's a good chance it's not going to stick. So if you don't mind checking in with healing updates, I for one would be interested to see the progress. Oh, and I'm going up to NY on 08/03 to have Hooper do my fingers and light touchups on two spots on my right palm. Sadly, I know it's going to hurt.
