ive been working on a exhibit of my art the last few months. it opens at 8 or swords in brooklyn on december 13th. heres one of the 11 pieces ive been working on its 18x24 ink and water color well it will be 18x24 when i crop the paper

So much energy spent talking about shit tattoos which could be spent talking about good ones.

MPC - Mr X Cool little video with Duncan X. Seems like an interesting guy.. I like the style of his tattooing. I'd like a piece from him for sure, probably on my torso somewhere... has anyone got work from him?

3rd session done with Nick Colella. We did all the color and I asked him to put a rose in. Glad I got something by Nick himself. He freehand drew it and it turned out awesome. 1 more session left for filler. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 2

Oh, what the hell. I'll post mine here, too: By Paul Dobleman at Spider Murphy's. I didn't give him a ton of room to work with, but he still pulled a great, unique take on an iconic image.

I think if I'm gonna get a full back piece then Chris Crooks is the man. This is amazing !

First sheet of flash I have ever painted, only time ive really used watercolour, red is done with a pencil, didn't have any red paint! Let me know what you think. None are original designs, eagle on the left is from a Collins sheet, not sure who the one on the right was done by!

This exists somewhere else on here but I'm stoked on this thread! Here's my left thigh from last year from Nash Hogan, great dude. I'll be doing something bigger on the other one soon! Soonish. When I can. So.. at some point. - - - Updated - - - I've also had a couple other things added around it on the knee and inside of the thigh but don't have a picture. Probably for the best, nobody needs to see all up in my business.

I thought we could use a thread that shined a little light on some of the artists we love, but aren't necessarily very renowned or getting the recognition we feel they deserve. Lets get the ball rolling.... I've been a fan of the work of James Tex of Deadly Tattoos inc, located in Calgary, Canada, for a few years now. I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with his work, and some members here might even know him personally and/or have tattoos from him. Anyways, I stumbled across him a while back in another tattoo forum where a member showed off the progress of a Samurai sleeve he was getting done from Tex. I was blown away by his work, and to my great viewing pleasure he had a fairly large online portfolio on his shops website: Deadly Tattoos inc. I'm not sure if everyone agrees with me in that he's "low key", but I can't say that I have read an article about him or seen any pictures of his tattoo except on his website (and obviously the forum I mentioned). @ironchef I plan of finishing it as soon as possible, but I don't think I'll get my next appointment until january, Marius is a busy guy! Gives me some time to forget the pain though! hehe

@Graeme, I've got a lord vicar track on a comp and it was all it took to make me want to get all their albums. that new noctum sound good as well. i'm kinda blown away by the amount of really good albums that came out in the last few weeks. in just one day toxic holocaust, warbringer, skeletonwitch, and entombed all put out albums. http://youtu.be/JYdJZgkJ9SI and completely switching gears

Not sure did you just rip it off? That's why you put it on for three days! Putting it on for 1 hour then ripping it of will definitely irritate your skin I would think.. Honestly I'm not sure ??? Good luck!

You know where there are better references than the internet? Tattoo shops. You know who has a shit ton of flash/books? Tattoo shops. You know who is well acquainted with these collections? Tattooers. Do some initial poking around, then find a tattooer or shop, then go say, "Hey, I saw this Jerry wolf, the full body one with his tongue hanging out," or whatever you want, and they'll say, "Oh yeah, lemme see, was it this one?" And more than likely, they'll pick out one of the SJ books they've undoubtedly got and flip to the page and you'll say, "Oh yeah, that's it, that line drawing is way better than the one I found online."

No sweat homey. Plus, Brian is fucking awesome. One of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure of meeting. He can be a little standoffish, but he is truly genuine in regards to his craft and wanting people to get amazing tattoos.

Not a clear photo but you can see the wild snake on my thigh and my chicken drumstick flash in my pug's ear.

Same reason people make poor nutritional choices. Same reason people dress like shit for their body type. Same reason people make any number of bad decisions every day. If only bad decisions stopped at terrible tattoos...

Here you go, on my left thigh, koi, water and cherry blossoms done in Japanese style by Henning Jorgensen. Not completed yet and also now connected to my back piece project. Will eventually get a piece on my right thigh to balance things out. Maybe a tiger or dragon or both.

One time I was tattooing this girl's ankle and she meowed her way through the whole tattoo as her 'pain management.' It was a trial.

Fucking insane, man! Lucky you, not just for the backpiece, but for the time spent with Eddy. He's such a cool guy.

It is funny that the 3rd picture even copied those two dark spirals on the shoulders that look like the might have been existing work that Shige had to work around. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

This is an interesting topic with a lot of grey area. As a tattooer, it's pretty disheartening and insulting when someone blatantly rips off your work. As a client, well.. I was talking to Mr. Campise about not putting my piece online as to skate around the biters and he laid it out pretty simply. Nobody is ever going to do the original justice, and it's pretty much just free(albeit really obnoxious) advertising. Nothing can ever outshine true authenticity, and whoever ends up with the copy ends up walking around with a permanent bummer. So that's kind of where I sit on that matter... It sucks, it's inevitably going to happen, don't do it if you tattoo, and don't get down on it as a client.
